Remuera South

Before: This home required a full make-over, as the style of the home was dated and it was in need of repairs.

After: We replaced the barrel dormer roofs with lean-to roofs creating more space and light to the interior and created a roof overhang at the same time. We also installed new double glazed aluminum windows with facing details, new insulation, and new bevel back timber weather boards. The front porch was opened up to feel more welcoming with the addition of a stone column. A new flat panelled garage door contrasted nicely with the lines of the weather boards.

Before: The dreary Master bedroom with its narrow curved top window and dark carpet was like a cave, rather than a bedroom.

After: We made the window larger to let more light in, repainted the walls and ceilings, and laid new carpet, creating a Master bedroom that the clients wanted to retire to after a long day.

Before: The ensuite had dated plumbing fittings and floor tiles, and the paint work needed a total revamp.

After: An improved layout, new plumbing fittings, floor tiles and colours transformed the ensuite into a more functional modern bathroom.

Before: The dated kitchen/family room needed some TLC. It felt unwelcoming and was poorly designed.

After: We were able to upgrade the kitchen with minimal cost. This included a change to some cabinets, new bench tops, floor tiles, new modern appliances, and fresh decorating.

Before: Whilst the living room did have a pair of french doors connecting with the outdoor living area, the doors were narrow and had nowhere to fold back to when opened. A lack of opening windows to the dining area restricted ventilation.

After: We inserted opening windows for better ventilation in the dining area, and new bi-fold doors off the living area to provide improved connection with the garden entertaining area. These improvements created a more livable home.

Before: The garden entertaining area looked onto an eye-sore of a fireplace attached to the side of the house. This fireplace just had to go.

After: Better indoor/outdoor access to the garden entertaining area with a pergola to give shaded relief from the sun during summer allowing for a more relaxed lifestyle.
